Welcome to the Schedule for the 74th Tockwith & District Agricultural Show which this year
will be held on SUNDAY 4th August.
The Directors and Committee of Tockwith Show do hope that you will come and see the
Show and, as important, enter one (or more) of almost 300 classes contained in this
schedule. Without entries there cannot be a show!
The schedule is available on our website at: www.tockwithshow.org.uk
Front cover design by Thaddaeus Claye winner of class 631 in the Childrens section.
We are happy to receive requests for a posted schedule for the 2020 show now so please
contact the Secretary as soon as possible at secretary@tockwithshow.org.uk or by
telephoning 07976 268012 .
We will continue to make copies of the schedule available in shops and pubs in the area
but unless you made a request for a posted schedule either last year or now you will not
receive one. We do hope you understand the reasons for requesting your address details if
you require a posted schedule.
Like most country shows we are happy for you to bring your dog onto the showground.
However we have to insist that dogs are kept under control and on a lead at all times
with the exception of when in the Dog Scurry area.
Please note that bags may be searched on entry to the show field.
The Directors and Committee
Tockwith and District Agricultural Society April 2019
The Tockwith and District Agricultural Show is run by the
Tockwith and District Agricultural Society Ltd
which is a Registered Charity (No. 1105149)
and is an affiliated member of the Yorkshire Federation of Show Societies

The Future
To stage a show of this size we rely on support from a large number of people. That support is normally
through giving of their time or financial support through Sponsorship and attendance at our fund raising
events. If you could help in any way please get in touch with Allan Robinson (Chairmen), Steve Ross
(Show Secretary) or any Director or Committee member. Each year some Committee members retire and
some people are no longer able to support us financially. We thank them for their support but need to keep
the numbers up! Can you help? Please get in touch.
Publicity and Data Protection
Once you have read and understood the rules & regulations (page 9) of this schedule and
have ticked the box on the entry form to proceed with your entry, the Society may use your
information to do the following:
a) store, process and retain, including electronically, all data and personal information
provided by exhibitors, for the purposes of operating the Show, maintaining appropriate
records and communicating with the exhibitor in future concerning any of the Society’s
activities; b) publicise the names and home locations (town & county only) of exhibitors,
including but not limited to prize winners, in Show catalogues, on the Show website and
elsewhere as part of the operation and promotion of the Show and future shows; c)
photograph any exhibitor or other person on the Showground and store and use the resulting
image (including edited or altered versions) for any of the Society’s commercial or noncommercial
purposes in all and any media, including, without limitation, use in promotional
materials and on the Society’s website, or supply to carefully selected third parties for use for
their own purposes. The Society shall own the copyright in any such images; d) Publish the
details and results of any disputes and/or appeals.

Tockwith and District Show
Is a registered charity run by volunteers who are passionate about putting on a first
class show and at the same time having fun. Ever thought about joining them? Why
not have an exploratory chat with Allan Robinson, Show Chairman 07970 956840
or Steve Ross, Show Secretary 07976 260812 with a view to joining us. The Show
Directors are determined that the show should get bigger and better each year.
This can only be achieved if there are more volunteers to help in planning, setting
up and stewarding sections of the show.

DOGS IN CARS ON HOT DAYS
Your dog is vulnerable and at risk during hot weather and the Kennel Club offers the following guidance
to help guide you through the do’s and don’ts travelling to and whilst at Kennel Club licensed events.
• When travelling to a show please take a moment to consider whether the route to the show is on a busy
holiday route, and leave earlier to avoid increased time in traffic jams.
• If your vehicle is not air-conditioned seriously consider whether travelling to the show is a good idea.
• The vehicle should be as fully ventilated as possible, and plenty of stops should be taken, with lots of
water available to drink.
• Ensure your dog is not sitting in full sunlight. There should be plenty of free flowing air around the dog.
• When at the show, never leave your dog in the vehicle.
• Keep the dog in the shade – take your own shade, for example a large umbrella and always have
plenty of water available to drink so your dog stays well hydrated.
• Avoid your dog taking part in unnecessary exertion, or from standing in exposed sunlight for extended
lengths of time.
Remember, if you feel hot your dog is very likely to feel much hotter and dehydrated, and this could lead
to dire results. Please look after your dog’s welfare. Warning:
if your dog is found to be at risk, forcible
entry to your vehicle may be necessary without liability for any damage caused.
Anyone whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure
the needs of their dog(s) are met, and should not put a dog’s health and welfare at risk by any action,
default, omission or otherwise. Breach of Kennel Club Regulations in this respect may be referred to the
General Committee for disciplinary action under Kennel Club Regulations.
Right to refuse entries. Exhibitors/competitors are reminded that show societies have the right under
Kennel Club Regulations to refuse any entry.
Your dog is vulnerable and AT RISK if left in a vehicle in high temperatures and even on days considered
as slightly warm. Please take care of your dog.
Docking statements
A dog docked on or after the 6th April 2007 may not be entered for exhibition at this show.

Easy Fundraising
How it works
Easyfundraising.org.uk helps charities, schools, sports clubs, community
groups, and other good causes to raise money when their supporters shop
online. So far we’ve raised over £3 million for causes throughout the UK. It
works in a similar way to many other loyalty shopping sites, but instead of
earning points when you shop, you raise a donation for your cause instead.
It’s as simple as that!
The Tockwith Agricultural Society is registered with Easy Fundraising and by
visiting their web site, registering and selecting the Tockwith Show as your
charity you can raise funds for the show.
It doesn’t cost you a penny more
The great thing is it won’t cost you any more, plus they have lots of voucher
codes and special discounts so you can actually save money while you help
your good cause. There is no cost for the good cause either – our service is
totally free.
